The 87th most popular productivity on Mac OS X

Photos have iPhoto. Music has iTunes. But when it comes to PDFs, you're on your own. That is, until now. Now there is Yep and there's no looking back.

Start Yep for the first time and it automatically shows you all your PDFs tagged based on where they were found on your hard disk. But the real fun begins when you start adding your own tags. You'll never go back to a hierarchical filing system again.

    Great documents finding application.
With Deep and Leap, the trilogy of OpenMeta tools.

    Only two negative points:
    - Very slow at startup when you have hundred of thousands of files ("searching…" for a while)
    - Searches on network drives when not added to spotlight exclusion list: problematic when you access a remote disk via a VPN…

Delicious icon, intuitive layout, iTunes for documents - has a few minor bugs.

I've been consistently impressed with Yep, but became a little dispondant when I realised that it didn't use metadata for tags, unlike Tagit and Leap. However, with the v2.0beta this has changed, and Yep is back on my Taskbar!

The inbuilt .pdf reader is very good, and one can scan directly into the app - useful for those after a true paperless office (if only...)

An iPhoto for .pdf? Most Certainly!

Recommended; the bundle with Leap/Deep/Fresh is very good value, and Tagit is free (all from the Ironic Software site)

I've been using Yep since back when it was called Kip. I like it very much. i continue to sue it even while also using yojimbo because of the way it accepts pretty much whatever type of file you throw at it - including .png files.

yep has become sort of my "leisure" storage area where yojimbo is more for my work projects.
