Twas my primary chat program for years... since I was eleven years old. Just now moving over to Skype.
A bit bloated in later versions. The commercials is a big disappointment.

I find this one of the best messengers ever created.
I seldom use this, cuz once not upgraded to the latest edition, you can't even login. LOL. This is a big con for a program as big as Windows Live messenger
Seldom used by anyone these days. With the acquisition of Skype I would like to see them do away with this and focus on applying some of its more useful features to Skype.
