TrueCrypt is a software system for establishing and maintaining an on-the-fly-encrypted volume (data storage device). Files can be copied to and from a mounted TrueCrypt volume just like they are copied to/from any normal disk (for example, by simple drag-and-drop operations).

Everybody should be using this for their USB drives and other portable devices. Great to put on a system backup drive, too.

Opensource crypto ftw! Makes it more trustable that we can see everything that this thing does.
Best encryption software.
Great for encrypting data, but the interface is a bit outdated for my taste, and encryption options a little bit too advanced and too slow for everyday use. I prefer MyLockBox personally, which doesn't offer secure protection, but works faster and smoother for me.
