To be honest, this software is irriplacable. I had a hard time choosing between the three major file managers that I know of:

    1. Together
    2. Yojimbo
    3. DevonThink (PRO)

I chose to purchase this because it does a lot more than Yojimbo (plus, it's MUCH less bulky imo), and it has one key feature:

It's NOT just a mirror image of what you drop, rather, it's a duplicate copy. This means that if you loose a file and you have it in Together, it will still be there. (and vice-versa).

All around, it's a unique and well-rounded app, but I'm not so sure that it's worth the price-tag. It would be nice if we could have an "inbox"/"drop-box" rather than "recent-imports", but whatever the case... It's a great app for research and organizational needs.

    Cheers

Hmm, I don't recall ever using a scrapbooking/note-taking application named Together. In my case, this is Borland's Together diagram creation and project management tool, based upon Eclipse. Oh well.

This is one of my favorite apps. I use it constantly to store information, draft article ideas and keep bookmarks. The shelf in particular is a great idea.

I used to use SOHO Notes, which uses OpenBase. Together uses SQLite. For every document I added, SOHO progressively became slower, which impacted the performance of my Mac. My library is now double the size I had with SOHO and Together is just as quick now as it was when I first started using it. It would be 5 stars all around if it used an XML file instead of a database backend.
