This is the worst app I ever installed on my Macbook Pro
Dreadful. We have to use it at work now. AVG outshines it.
It caused my iMac to hang several times. Unstalled it, but it kept turning up in my context menu. :/

It detects a lot of "malware" that isn't really malware, and then just ends up removing system files that the computer needs. It's not that common, but it's still frustrating. Past that, it's actually a decent antivirus program. Just that... There's better.
We replaced McAfee with this, and while it's definitely a step-up from that (really, what isn't?), it's still a fairly lackluster product. It detects a ton of false-positives while neglecting valid threats, then when it does find them, is unable to effectively respond. It's ultimately a very mediocre product...
My company uses this app, and it is not so good.
this is the worst anti-virus i'v ever used. most of my coworkers agree. it doesn't do anything while the laptop is idle, but the moment i start watching a dvd or web movie, it starts scanning or updating or doing something that kills the performance. I end up having to kill it using task manager because there is no way to disable what it is doing another way. it is a corporate av suite and doesn't want its user to have any control over it.

Although Sophos is mainly geared towards corporate environments, it is also a good A/V program for home machines. It uses minimal system resources, and has frequent signature updates, along with a clean and simple front end.
Not as good or as easy to use as most AV products but has a great server side program that can push updates, remove viruses without access to the computer and inform about unapproved programs.
This is a great antivirus for the business environment. It has very little overhead and quite easy to manage.
The updating process is sometimes annoying but it's overall a good prog.
