Prezi is nice alternative to Powerpoint. It's a fantastic presentation editor and viewer in a simple and overwhelming concept.
Prezi is a great idea. If you've ever gotten completely sick of power point, get rid of it and try prezi. The zooming editor is so much simpler, easier to use, encourages free form thinking and is pretty amazing to watch too. The downside is this application is expensive - the free account has watermarks and file size (upload) limitations. The offline prezi editor is almost entirely made of Java - which will kill your computer if it isn't high on RAM. That aside, if you have the RAM and give a lot of presentations - use prezi, you'll love it.
superb
Very innovative Zooming presentation software that eschews slides for an infinite canvas that your presentation maps a path around. I find myself asking what shape is my presentation instead of "what slides do I need". Anything that shakes up the presentation landscape is a good thing.
As an interaction designer, I love the pie menus and transformation zebra used to manipulate objects and text on screen. Watch the screencasts, you'll be sold in 30 seconds.
