A social network tool on Mac, Windows and the Web
… More EditClosed.
Pownce is a free social networking and micro-blogging site started by Internet entrepreneurs Kevin Rose, Leah Culver, Daniel Burka. Pownce is centered around sharing messages, files, events, and links with already-established friends.
Additionally, Pownce Pro is a $20 upgrade to the free service that removes all advertisements, gives users more customization options, a larger file sharing size limit, and adds a neat little "Pro" icon on the user's display photo.

It was a micro-bloging service with file sharing and some other things integrated. Not bad, but at the time nothing special either.
Well I was gonna check this out... but it closed! Ugh.
"Pownce was closed down on December 15, 2008. The engineering team and technology are now a part of Six Apart, makers of the best blogging tools around."
Shut down, what a shame.
:'(
RIP Pownce
R.I.P.

I will be sad to see Pownce go, such a great service
My first micro-blogging site ...
Pownce will be gone. On December 15, 2008 it will close all services. Pownce is history.

Getting shut down.
It's ok. I don't use it much. More like a back up, kinda, sorta.
