This is my preferred text editor. It supports so many languages, yet works just as well for simple tasks.
Powerfull but complicated and obvious UI.

Like and use most the following feaures:
- Higlight matching open/close tag in XML
- Separate menu to diplay your document in whetever encoding or convert to desired encoding. Including UTF8 with and without BOM.
- Nice build-in compare feature
- XML file re-indent function
Overal the editor is very reliable. Polished user experience.
Every week, I learn some new crazy feature about notepad++
I know of nothing better.
Perfect for ANY text editing! ^_^
Some of my favourite (less known) features of npp:
- Block selection.
- Find/Replace in files (in dir).
- Copy as HTML. (keeps syntax colours in tact)

One of the best code editing apps for Windows for those times/people that don't need a full-blown IDE. The built-in FTP tool is slick.
