The most popular firewall on Mac OS X
… More EditLittle Snitch tells you when a program tries to send info to the Internet. If you do not like the idea of information possibly being gathered from your computer and being sent to who-knows-where for who-knows-what, Little Snitch helps. When an application tries to establish a network connection, Little Snitch intercepts the attempt and brings up an alert panel giving you all the connection details including the name of the application, which initiated the connection. You either choose to allow the connection, to deny it or to add a permanent rule for similar future connections.

This little app is great for people who don't want to do things the hard way :P
Mac OS X can easily do the functions this app does, but it's far from the simplicity and charm which this app has. I personally don't use it as the cost is too high IMO, and I rather not have that extra micro space it occupies when you run it.
One last note I was thinking to say was that the category of it as a firewall is true, however not much great one at that. In other words it mostly does app control for your inbound and outbound traffic to block or unblock. Whereas a firewall does this as base assumption for the minimal features.
Firewall for OSX even though there is one built in (disabled) by default.
Usefull
nice...
Exactly what OS X needs if you're not happy with Apple's firewall setting of "OFF" or "ON".
The best app for allow or denny connections from the internet, pretty easy to use and to configure, well worth the money and the best of all you can block the incoming connections to your mac, so no one can access it, very useful.
At first, I didn't see how this would be useful… Now, I use it to stop Mail from accessing port 443 (Spam images are almost always hosted on fake https servers in order to exploit the trust inherent in the usage of https and mine your personal info), Firefox from accessing port 6667 and so on…
I've been using this little gem since it was in beta.. If you want to make sure your Mac isn't "calling home", use Lil' Snitch. It stops all the annoying apps that think they need to talk to the internet without your knowledge or permission.
Easy to use, easy to customize. Well worth the money.
If you hate companies sniffing out information or sending data for any reason, like I do, this little snitch is right for you.
Essential.
One of the first things I install after a fresh OS X install.

It's great and very useful for those of you who prefer knowing what applications installed on your Mac do behind your back.
Great app for finding out what programs are sending and trying to recieve info
