The 3rd most popular browser on Windows
… More EditWindows Internet Explorer (formerly Microsoft Internet Explorer; abbreviated to MSIE or, more commonly, IE), is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems starting in 1995. It has been the most widely used web browser since 1999, attaining a peak of about 95% usage share during 2002 and 2003 with IE5 and IE6.
That percentage share has since declined in the face of renewed competition from other web browsers. Its usage share now sits at approximately 50% to 60% and is slowly trending downward. Microsoft spent over $100 million a year on IE in the late 1990s, with over 1,000 people working on it by 1999.

Sorry Microsoft, got to be the worst software going.
Runs faster than Chrome and about on par with FF on modern computers. But is more secure than either. My prefered browser.
Likes to crash a lot and doesnt even start when you need it to.

Uninstall it. And don't think about it.
Worst browser ever.
The worst browser i've tried out.
I hate the interface and it slows my computer.
As a Web Designer I am suppose to develop a hatred towards IE. While I do not use IE and instead use SRWare Iron (chromium), I agree that IE8+ is certainly not as feature-rich as Firefox, Chrome or Safari it has certain features which are unique to it and that it is now usable. I also love the chromeless experience.
What I would say is that if Microsoft wants to make IE better it needs to put more effort into providing support for add-ons, it's insane that they do not have any! IE is essentially unusable without addons like LastPass/Xmarks, Adblock etc.
If you take a look at what their calling the "IE Gallery" it reminds me of what the Gadgets download marketplace was like, very poor selection. They proved with Windows Phone that they "can" get partners on-board to support the ecosystem so why aren't they doing it with IE?
Used to be good back in the days, but now it's not going anywhere. Even with v9.
