Great website for streaming the music you want to hear. Unlike Pandora you can create playlists of exact songs or search and play that single song. Comparable to Last.fm and GrooveShark. Comments and some artist designs are comparable to what you would find on MySpace - a turn off for a more mature crowd. Comments are often chain letter like or children trash talking. Artist pages are often poorly designed with large background images. Stream quality is always great. I used to use this website a lot but now I strictly use GrooveShark which has a much better interface and generally offers a more appealing experience.
best media player ever!!! i use it for discovering new music before it comes out.
never used it you li0rz
I use imeem for searching and discovering music. I found some of the rarest songs and artists that Last.fm and Pandora simply don't have. I like that the music are users-created and versatile. I don't have the need to upload music to imeem because I can't listen to those playlists on any other platform (like a phone/ipod) aside from the web, that's what I have iTunes for. You can't even embed a song/playlist on another website since it will only play 30sec previews. The imeem app for the iphone is also weak. Other than that, imeem remains useful solely for looking up songs.
It seems that Imeem have changed their 30-second preview policy to opt-out rather than opt-in, as it was until just yesterday.
This makes the site completely useless in my view.
Firstly, most of the tracks I have bookmarked there are from Japanese publishers who might not even know about Imeem or how to change the permission.
Secondly, and more seriously, no publisher is going to actually go ahead and remove the protection when they're selling these singles and albums for money, it would be madness.
I have over 900 songs in my imeem playlist now. I love this. Searching for songs is easy. The only downside is some songs are cut to 30 seconds. Some issue with copyright, etc etc.
A great idea for finding great new music and organizing everything nicely,
but the uploading 80 gigs sold it for me
you can stream it right from your iphone/itouch without storing it on the actual device,
just brilliant
:)
I was almost addicted to scouring through other users' playlists. Love this service!
I've discovered so many songs through this site. I love the groups and the song selection. Sure, it's not as intuitive as other sites, but it makes up for it in content which is always king.
very US centric with its music suggestions etc. and trying to sell something in every corner. not my thing :(
Very nice. Discovered many great songs using imeem.
What's so bad about the internet. Keep it coming.
It's good for finding a song you cannot otherwise find. You can just launch a recording software and record the whole song through the Stereo Mix device - free :) I have no idea about the other aspects of the site.
Very Nice! High Quality!
Its not bad - could do with more variety of songs.
Last.fm is still better.
