iGoogle is a nice way keeping in touch with daily happenings, and fill daily needs. Fill your site with whatever you want to make it personal.
I use it as my dedicate home page across all of my platforms on all browsers. Centralizes all of the information I use, and even organizes it into sub pages nicely.
