A strategy game on Linux, Mac and Windows

Freeciv is a multiplayer, turn-based strategy game for workstations and personal computers inspired by the commercial proprietary Sid Meier's Civilization series. The game's default settings are closest to Civilization II, both in gameplay and graphics (including the units and the isometric grid).

It's great to have a free game that is similiar to Civ II, which was one of my favorite games. It makes several improvements, but also has a few issues. One of the things I lament is that they seem to have left out the "fundamentalist" government, which was my favorite! The result of this probably has more balanced gameplay though.

All in all, it's lots of fun, and you can't beat the price.
