Interface is ugly after the re-design, it's slow, and besides the occasional useful Zero-click answer the results are bad.
Because privacy matters. The results are often quite different from the ones obtained with Google, but usually equally relevant... So moving for Google to DDG is mainly a matter of being capable of changing its thinking habits.
Google
no image search!
Great search engine.
Love the simple interface. The search results, however, don't compete well with Google. Also, the search plugin (e.g. for Firefox) needs some improvement, such as live suggestions.
I love this to bits, but it needs its own image search! Also, lots of indexing to do.
Being small and new did it but still I like that -unlike Google and Bing- it is aware it's not the only game in town.
Much love for the !bang syntax.
The one feature that the other sesrch engines lack is !bang syntax, which allows you to search commonly used website by just typing !(code) in front of your search. For example, "!yt search phrase" would search youtube for the term "search phrase". Also, the other shortcuts, such as prepending \ to searches to automatically visit the first result, makes searching ridiculously quick. In fact, in Firefox, I use the DuckDuckGo search addon more than I use the actual URL bar. Could use a bit of an interface revamp, but as long as the performance is this good, you won't be spending much time looking at the interface anyway.
is good & new
Has a lot of neat features. Unfortunately, searching for relatively obscure things or recent pages doesn't usually turn up much, but adding "!g" to the search will just redirect it to Google.
It shall remain the search engine I use first.
leuke zoekmachine
I'm sold.
I like the endless scrolling feature, but I'll stick with google.
挺有趣的搜索引擎,眼亮了。
