I think most of these reviews are based on older versions. Read any review or roundup and NIS 2009 will win. Great product. completely rebuilt from the ground up from previous versions. I myself was a huge norton hater but i fell in love with 2009. Deserves a chance
Dreamweaver is the best web design tool hands down. There is no such thing as a professional developer that uses WYSIWYG, so i'll skip that aspect of the program entirely (I cant rate it because i've never taken it seriously). As far as a web development IDE, Dreamweaver has no competition, for one simple reason: the built in FTP support. I've tried numerous other development environments, and while there are many great programs out there, none offer top notch ftp support like dreamweaver. Any serious web developer requires great ftp support, for working with numerous sites across multiple servers. How else is one supposed to get any work done efficiently manually managing files across these servers? This is, to me, the sole reason for Dreamweaver's dominance of professional web development.
im going to have to copy evansims:
Not a fan of WYSIWYG, but I do admire Dreamweaver's code editing views. The built in file management and database connections make it really useful for developing web apps.
best of the best. period. mirc with nonamescript... perfect for all your irc needs.
great place for art and theme downloads and what not. as a business, being an original member, they sold out.
