Finally upgraded my home desktop system to Windows 7. I wanted to wait until I had:
1. a cloud backup solution running, for which I chose Carbonite
2. upgraded the memory, which I did bringng the RAM up to 6GB
3. upgraded the hard-disk drive (HDD) space, by installing two 500GB HDD, using a RAID 0 configuration, to create a single 1 TB volume
4. upgraded the graphics card, which I didn't know much about, so after consulting the AMD Radeon website I chose the Radeon 6870 and installed an ASUS HD6870 card with 1GB memory.
Now I have a brand new machine! The data transfer went great with a combination of the Windows Transfer software and Carbonite. All is well again and performance for RIFT (my obsession right now) is fantastic.
Upgrading my Linux distribution, currently Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat", to the latest version, Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal". I'm upgrading using the Ubuntu Update Manager, so I hope that all goes well for my 3rd Party applications.
What distribution of Linux do you use ?
Using AppBrain on my new Android phone. It would be cool if we had a wakoopa for the Android phone.
Using Google Chrome on Ubuntu 9.01 for over two weeks now and I'm very happy with it. All five of the extensions I've installed work just as I'd expect. Great work Google!
Finally got my proxy settings problems sorted in Google Chrome on Ubuntu 9.10. I've posted my experiences to both Google Chrome support site and the Google Chrome discussion group so that others can avoid the pain. Good-bye Firefox.
Just posted a support request as the Linux tracker doesn't seem to be recording my usage of Netbeans or VirtualBox on my Ubuntu 9.10 operating system.
Loving Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic koala) as my work operating system. Lets me focus on my job and has so many tools that make software development a breeze. I'm still a fan of Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 though when I come home.
My new HP EliteBook 8530p laptop arrived a fortnight ago and I've installed Ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala on it, which has been running very well. I've just installed the Wakoopa tracker too and it's working fine via the proxy server here at work.
Set-up a new development PC at work, running on Ubuntu. I've installed the Wakoopa tracker, but it isn't connecting via the proxy server. Contacting Wakoopa help for a solution.
My 3+ yr old work laptop has died in the arse, so no more tracking from work until the new one arrives.
Back at work after my break. Watch that development time spike back up!
On two weeks holiday from work, which accounts for the different profile in the applications showing up on my usage graph. Interesting.
Installed the Wakoopa Tracker on my home PC so I can track my software at work and at home. This is particularly timely being that I'm on leave for two weeks.
Switching from Password Safe to LastPass so I can access my passwords in The Cloud. LastPass has a Symbian app I can use on my Nokia E71 too, which is very handy!
