I am so grateful for PayPal - it makes buying online a lot easier! I've never had any trouble with the site. I dinged it a little on "interface" because when I was on dialup the site was slow to load. I'd much rather use PayPal to buy online - rather than using a credit card - because the ease of the transaction.
I've been using PBWiki for a couple years for a free, private wiki that I can keep my writing organized in. Very helpful, and easy to use! I'd like the page to be more configurable but I think that's a premium service. Other than that, I highly recommend this for getting information on the web fast. Especially good for those who can't design their own pages.
I couldn't afford Photoshop so I bought Paint Shop Pro version 8 several years ago. It provides a similar image editing interface and is everything I really need. I see no need to upgrade, especially after reading here that the newer versions aren't as good. I was worried about that when I learned that Corel bought out Jasc.
I've used this several times to find public-domain photos to use in my projects. I think it is a great resource. Definitely worth looking at if you're looking for photographs.
Version 3? I'm still using v.2 ... guess I'll go upgrade because I use this all the time. Mostly I use the word processor and the spreadsheet. The price is right and the features are impressive. Worth downloading!
I've used RoughDraft to write several novels. It creates .rtf files (like WordPad). I'm using something else for novel writing now, but still use RoughDraft almost every day as it is easy to open, doesn't take much memory, and has some handy features including a file list that remains open on the screen, and a note pad for extra notes on whatever project you're working on. For a free light weight writer's tool, I recommend it.
I've been a member of Squidoo for over a year, and am very active on that site. It is a place where you can create a page using pre-formatted modules. Write about whatever topic you're most interested in at the time, and rake in the profits. I hope to make over $100 this month; several others who have been on the site longer are earning over $1000 per month now with Squidoo.

Great user interface, friendly, attractive.
I like the backgammon game...
